Make every indoor ride more comfortable.

Build an indoor setup that's comfortable, practical and ready when you are. Turbo trainer accessories help you protect the floor, keep your screen within reach and fit your bike to compatible equipment. Explore training mats, desks, cooling options and model-specific adaptors, alongside upgrades that add another dimension to your indoor rides.

Start with the Essentials Around Your Trainer

Good airflow makes a difference when you're pedalling without the breeze of an outdoor ride. Position a fan to cool you effectively, keep a drink within reach and use a suitable mat to protect the floor from sweat. A mat can also help reduce transmitted vibration, but it won't make the trainer, drivetrain or fan silent.

A training desk or secure screen stand makes it easier to see your workout and reach the controls without stretching. Check its height, stability and clearance around your handlebars before choosing. Leave enough space to get on and off the bike, especially if your trainer or accessories allow movement while you ride.

What to Look for in Turbo Trainer Accessories

  • Exact compatibility: Match axle adaptors, freehub parts and other fitting accessories to both your bike and the specific trainer model. Similar-looking parts aren't necessarily interchangeable, and sharing a brand name doesn't guarantee a fit.
  • Your training space: Compare mat dimensions with the full footprint of your bike and trainer. Think about fan positioning, power sockets, screen height and storage, keeping cables clear of moving parts and the space you use to step off.
  • Useful upgrades: Decide what you want to improve before adding equipment. Cooling and easy access to controls support everyday comfort; steering, virtual-shifting and gradient-simulation accessories need a compatible combination of hardware and software.

For a wheel-on trainer, a suitable trainer tyre can be useful for regular indoor use where the wheel and trainer support it. Check the size and intended use: a trainer-only tyre needs changing before riding outdoors. Front-wheel supports also vary, so follow the trainer maker's guidance rather than assuming every setup needs the same riser block.

Check what's already included with your trainer before buying extra fittings. A virtual-shifting upgrade needs more than a compatible cog: the trainer generation, firmware, controller and app must work together. Gradient simulators and movement accessories have their own compatibility requirements too. Our Home Training Guide helps you plan the complete setup and prioritise the accessories you'll use most often.
