The Whyte Karve and Karve EVO are full-power electric mountain bikes built around the compact Avinox M2S drive system. They share the same hard-riding DNA, but they are aimed at two different sorts of day out.

Pick the 160mm Karve if you want an enduro-capable bike that still makes sense on mixed trail rides. Go for the 180mm Karve EVO if steep tracks, rough ground and self-shuttled gravity laps are the main event. Both are designed to stay calm when the trail gets fast, wet and properly technical.

Carbon mainframe

Every Karve and Karve EVO uses a uni-directional carbon mainframe. RS builds pair it with a tough 6061 alloy swingarm; the Karve RSX moves to a full-carbon frame, while the longer-travel Karve EVO RSX retains an alloy swingarm.

Avinox M2S drive system

A compact full-power motor with up to 150Nm of torque and 1300W peak output, backed by an 800Wh internal battery.

Quad-Link 4 suspension

Whyte’s four-bar layout is tuned to keep grip and control when the ground is rough, braking bumps stack up or the trail turns slick.

Proportional geometry

Reach, rear-centre length, seat angle and weight balance change with frame size so the bike stays centred and predictable for different-height riders.

High and low geometry settings

The Shape.It Link changes the head angle by 0.6 degrees and bottom-bracket height by 8mm. Run it low for a more planted feel, or high for extra pedal clearance and a livelier response.

OLED display and app connection

Whyte Karve EVO: built around the descent

Choose the Karve EVO if you chase steep, rough lines, spend plenty of time at bike parks or want to self-shuttle gravity trails. Its 180mm platform is there to absorb bigger hits, settle the bike through repeated rough sections and give you more room when the trail gets properly serious.

A 29in front wheel helps it track through rough ground, while the smaller 27.5in rear keeps the back end easier to move around. The EVO can still pedal between descents, but it makes most sense for riders who are happy to trade some all-round versatility for extra control when pointing downhill.

Calm when the trail gets messy

The headline motor figures are hard to miss, but handling is the bit that makes a ride. Whyte balances the front and rear of each frame size so you can load both tyres naturally, find grip and hold a line without fighting the bike.

That planted feel matters most on wet roots, loose turns and fast, rough ground. Independent first rides have also picked out the EVO’s composure in slick Forest of Dean conditions and its ability to deal with both trail chatter and bigger hits.

Both the Karve and Karve EVO are offered in RS and RSX builds. All use the same Avinox M2S motor and 800Wh battery, while the component package and some frame details change as you move to RSX.
