Take your bikes beyond the local roads and trails with a compatible car bike rack. Choose from boot-mounted carriers, individual roof carriers and towbar or hitch-mounted platforms for everything from occasional solo trips to family rides and e-bike adventures.
Why Choose a Car Bike Rack?
A purpose-made carrier transports bikes without using the passenger or luggage space inside the vehicle. Boot Fit racks are compact and often easy to store, Roof Fit carriers keep the rear of the car accessible, and Towbar & Hitch Fit platforms offer a lower loading height that can be especially useful for heavier bikes. The right choice depends on the vehicle, the bikes and how often the carrier will be used.
What to Look for in a Car Bike Rack
- Vehicle compatibility: Confirm the rack fits the exact make, model, body style and year, including the roof-bar, boot, towbar or hitch requirements.
- Bike size and weight: Check bike count, total capacity, the per-bike limit, wheelbase, tyre width and frame or wheel mounting compatibility.
- Loading and access: Consider lifting height, spacing between bikes, boot access and whether lights and the number plate remain visible or need a lighting board.
Bike count alone does not establish safe capacity. Stay within the lowest limit stated for the vehicle, roof bars or towbar, carrier and each bike position. E-bikes may reduce the number of bikes a carrier can safely hold, and long-wheelbase, carbon, step-through or fat-tyre bikes can need specific approval or adapters.
