Whyte Secta-E FAQs
Your questions answered about the Secta-E range, Avinox power and choosing a bike for trails and everyday journeys.
What is the difference between the Whyte Secta-E and Secta-E SUV?
The Whyte Secta-E is aimed at leisure rides and trail exploring, with Maxxis Rekon tyres. The Secta-E SUV adds mudguards, a rear rack, integrated front and rear lights and Schwalbe Smart Sam tyres for commuting and trekking. Both share Avinox M2 assistance, 130mm front suspension and a dropper seatpost.
What motor does the Whyte Secta-E use?
Both the Whyte Secta-E and Secta-E SUV use the Avinox M2 drive system, delivering up to 120Nm of torque and 1,000W peak power, with a nominal power rating of 250W. Five assistance modes, including Auto and Boost, provide support for everyday riding and steeper climbs.
How far can the Whyte Secta-E go on one charge?
Whyte quotes up to 125km (77 miles) for the Secta-E with its 800Wh battery. Actual range varies with terrain, assistance level, rider and luggage weight and riding conditions. Sizes S–XL have an 800Wh battery; size XS has a 600Wh battery, so the same range figure does not apply.
Is the Whyte Secta-E suitable for commuting and trail riding?
The Whyte Secta-E range suits roads, cycle paths, forest tracks and cross-country trails. Both models have a 130mm suspension fork, hydraulic disc brakes and a dropper seatpost for off-road control. The Secta-E SUV is especially useful for commuting, with lights, mudguards and a rear rack fitted as standard.
What wheel sizes does the Whyte Secta-E come with?
The specification tables for the Whyte Secta-E and Secta-E SUV list 29-inch wheels in sizes M–XL and 27.5-inch wheels in size S. Both use 2.6-inch-wide tyres. Contact our team to confirm the wheel specification if you are considering size XS.
Can the Whyte Secta-E battery be removed for charging?
The Whyte Secta-E and Secta-E SUV have an integrated battery designed to be charged on the bike. It can be removed for maintenance, but Whyte specifies that motor removal is required. It is not a quick-release battery intended for regular removal and charging away from the bike.
Does the Whyte Secta-E connect to a smartphone app?
