Giant Trance Advanced E+

Riders exploring mountain trails on Giant Trance Advanced E+ bikes

More climbs. More trail time.

Meet the new Giant Trance Advanced E+: full power, with control built in.

The Giant Trance Advanced E+ is a full-suspension electric mountain bike for riders who want to tackle technical climbs and enjoy the descent just as much. The new 2027 bike brings together a carbon chassis, 160mm fork and 150mm of Maestro rear suspension, with a motor and suspension layout developed to work together.

Every new model gets the 120Nm SyncDrive Pro 4 motor and an 840Wh battery. Your choice comes down to suspension, shifting, wheels and controls. The details below describe the new 2027 range; earlier Trance Advanced E+ models have different specifications.

Power you can put to use

A steep climb asks more of a bike than a big torque figure. The new Trance Advanced E+ pairs its assistance with suspension and traction control designed to help you keep moving across uneven ground.

  • Support from the first pedal stroke. Torque-based assistance responds to pressure on the pedals, including when starting from a standstill.
  • Grip on loose climbs. Traction Control adjusts motor assistance when it detects rear-wheel slip.
  • Handling you can tune. Mixed wheels and three geometry settings let you adapt the bike to your trails.
  • One connected system. The motor, battery, display and app work together, with controls and electronic equipment varying by model.

Help through the steep sections

The SyncDrive Pro 4 delivers up to 120Nm of torque and 850W peak power. Its quick response is designed to help when restarting on a climb or carrying momentum through a technical section.

Suspension built around the power

A custom motor housing makes room for the Maestro suspension layout. With 150mm of rear travel and a 160mm fork, the new bike is built for varied trails and rougher descents.

Capacity for bigger plans

An 840Wh battery is fitted across the new range. For longer outings, the optional EnergyPak Plus 280 adds capacity, taking the total to 1,120Wh. Actual range depends on your riding and conditions.

Key features across the Trance Advanced E+ range

These are shared features of the new 2027 bikes. Suspension components, shifting and dropper controls change between builds.

Mixed wheels for rollover and manoeuvrability

A 29-inch front wheel helps roll over roots and rocks, while the 27.5-inch rear wheel keeps the back of the bike more manageable through tighter turns. This mixed-wheel setup is used across sizes S to XL.

Three geometry positions

The Maestro flip chip offers Low, Mid and High settings, changing steering angles and bottom bracket height. Low favours stability on descents; High adds pedal clearance for technical terrain. Mid gives you a starting point between the two.

Assistance you can personalise

Giant’s power management system reads six sensor inputs to adjust assistance. The RideControl App lets you tune support to your preferences, whether you want gentler help on familiar trails or stronger assistance for steeper ground.

Useful information at a glance

The top-tube RideControl Go Lux display shows ride data, battery status and estimated remaining range. Aegis Tyre Checker is included in the launch specifications, letting you monitor tyre pressures through the display.

Wheels and chains chosen for the load

Giant’s TRX HD carbon or TRA HD alloy wheels use reinforced hubs and Wide Guard rim technology. Each build also gets a KMC chain developed for high-torque e-bike use. The 0 uses carbon wheels; the 1, SE and 2 use alloy wheels.

Who is the new Trance Advanced E+ for?

If your favourite ride mixes steep climbs, rocky sections and flowing descents, the Trance Advanced E+ is well worth a look. Its full-power motor helps you cover the climbs, while the suspension travel and adjustable geometry give you room to take on more demanding trails.

It suits riders who value strong assistance and battery capacity for longer trail sessions. Think about your usual terrain and the parts you’ll notice most: suspension control, shifting feel and cockpit setup matter more to the choice of build than motor output, which is shared. Plan your ride around the trail, not a range promise

The 840Wh EnergyPak gives every new model the same starting capacity. You can remove the battery for charging, and the optional 280Wh extender adds capacity for bigger days. It is an extra purchase, rather than standard equipment.

How far you ride depends on elevation, rider weight, assistance mode, temperature and trail conditions. Stronger support uses more energy, so choose your mode for the terrain and keep an eye on the display’s estimate as the ride develops.

What changes as you move up the range

The 2027 UK range has four builds with the same 120Nm motor, 840Wh battery and 160mm/150mm travel. Moving through the range changes the equipment around that platform. These are the new models we’re expecting, rather than a guide to earlier bikes in the product list.

Trance Advanced E+ FAQs

Questions about the new 2027 bike? Here are the useful details before you choose. For sizing or availability, talk to the Uprise team.

What motor does the 2027 Giant Trance Advanced E+ use?

Every new 2027 Giant Trance Advanced E+ uses the 48V SyncDrive Pro 4 motor, with up to 120Nm of torque and 850W peak power. The torque-based system responds to pedal pressure from a standstill. Motor output is shared across the 0, 1, SE and 2, so upgrading changes the surrounding equipment rather than the core assistance.

What battery does the new Trance Advanced E+ have?

The 2027 Trance Advanced E+ has a removable 840Wh EnergyPak battery across all four builds. An optional EnergyPak Plus 280 range extender takes total capacity to 1,120Wh. There isn’t one reliable mileage figure for every rider: climbing, assistance level, weight, terrain and temperature all affect how far a charge will take you.

How much suspension travel does the 2027 Trance Advanced E+ have?

The new Giant Trance Advanced E+ has a 160mm fork and 150mm of Maestro rear suspension. All four builds share this travel, with different forks and shocks. The motor housing and suspension layout were developed together to retain the Maestro pivot arrangement while accommodating the new full-power system.

Does every Trance Advanced E+ have electronic shifting and an electronic dropper?

No. In the 2027 range, the 0 and 1 use SRAM AXS shifting, and the SE uses TRP electronic shifting. These three have a Contact Switch E+ electronic dropper and Ergo 5 controls. The 2 has mechanical Shimano Deore shifting, a Contact Switch AT dropper and Ergo 4 controls.

What wheel sizes does the new Trance Advanced E+ use?

The 2027 Giant Trance Advanced E+ uses a 29-inch front wheel and a 27.5-inch rear wheel across sizes S, M, L and XL. The larger front wheel helps with rollover on rough ground, while the smaller rear wheel favours manoeuvrability. Three flip-chip settings let you adjust the geometry for your riding.
