Returning a product under the WEEE Regulations.

What do the WEEE regulations mean?

WEEE (The Waste Electrical and electronic Equipment) Directive is UK law that governs the disposal and recycling of all electrical items. The law, introduced in 2014, puts the emphasis on the producers and suppliers of electrical equipment to pay for the collection, treatment and recovery of waste electricals.

As a retailer that sells new Electrical and Electronic products we will take back old items, provided it is a like-for-like replacement when you buy a new product from us. We will then responsibly dispose of the old product ensuring that it doesn’t end up in landfill.

Old products must be returned directly to our shop or head office (details below) within 28 days of your new purchase, clearly marked as WEEE.

Disposing of equipment yourself

If you choose not to send your equipment back to us for disposal then you can dispose of any electricals or electronics yourself at your local recycling centre, who will dispose of your equipment via a controlled recycling process.

You can locate your closest collection site by entering your postcode at www.recycle-more.co.uk

What products fall under WEEE Regulations?

As part of the WEEE regulations, all electrical and electronic goods produced after August 2005 that fall under WEEE regulations should be clearly marked with a crossed-out bin symbol which means they should not be included with household waste so that they can be recycled

As a responsible retailer we take all steps possible to ensure that our business meets all requirements of any EU & UK consumer protection laws, particularly the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation & Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 and other legislation specific to the products that we sell.

Hope Pro 5 32H 150mm 12mm 6-Bolt Rear Hub - Red

Season:Core Range

Brand:Hope

Code:PRO5RH32H15012RED

Ride sharper, coast further

Feel the bike come alive. The Pro 5 cuts drag so the freehub spins long and quiet. Acceleration feels immediate. Engagement is fast and precise. That means sharper exits from corners, crisper climbs and less wasted pedal movement. It’s made to perform now and last through everything you throw at it.

Why this matters on the trail

Less drag gives a smoother, freer spin. More points of engagement mean your power connects sooner. Both changes make the bike feel quicker under foot without noisy, grabby behaviour. Increased load capacity and a stiffer shell keep things stable under heavy use — especially useful for e-bikes and big riders. And when you ride in mud or rain, improved seals keep the guts clean so the hub lives longer.

What’s changed and how you feel it

  • A new zero-drag labyrinth seal reduces resistance at the freehub. You’ll notice longer, quieter coasting.
  • An updated pawl and spring layout cuts drag and raises durability. The hub takes a harder life and keeps picking up speed.
  • An offset 6-pawl freehub with 108 engagement points (3 pawls engaged at any time) gives fast pick-up without harsh crank kick. It feels quick and controlled.
  • The shell and a new step-down axle make the hub stiffer without extra weight. That stiffness translates to a planted, confident feel under power.
  • Bigger, better-arranged bearings support modern freehub standards and raise load capacity for everyday and e-bike use.

Service, compatibility and future-proofing

Hope designed the Pro 5 to be serviceable. It’s rebuildable with simple tools. Swap freehubs to change drivetrain standards. Swap end caps to fit different frames and axle types. That flexibility keeps your wheels useful as standards evolve.

Key Features:

  • Built on Hope’s 30+ years of hub experience
  • Improved sealing to stop dirt ingress and reduce drag
  • Zero-drag labyrinth seal for freewheeling performance
  • New pawls and springs to increase longevity and load capacity while reducing drag
  • Increased engagement from 44 to 108 using an offset 6-pawl freehub design (3 pawls engaged at any time)
  • Wire-cut pawls from high-strength steel for strength
  • New step-down axle design for a stiffer, more durable freehub
  • New hub body profile for increased stiffness without added weight
  • e-bike specific hub tuned for the demands of e-bikes
  • Fully serviceable and rebuildable with simple tools
  • End spacers easily swapped to suit different frame and axle standards
  • 6-bolt disc fitting

Ready to feel the difference? Take the Pro 5 out and ride it hard — it’s built for that.
